Milledgeville Woman and Unborn Child Killed in Apparent Murder-Suicide, Police Say
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a pregnant woman, her unborn child and a man were found dead inside a Milledgeville residence Thursday morning.
Officers responded at approximately 10:15 a.m. on June 19, 2026, to the 100 block of North Richmond Street after receiving a report of two deceased individuals inside a home.
Patrol officers secured the scene while detectives began their investigation.
According to preliminary findings, investigators believe 33-year-old Jajuan Taylor of Milledgeville shot and killed 31-year-old Briuna Hartry of Milledgeville and her unborn child before taking his own life.
Authorities said Hartry was approximately 33 weeks pregnant at the time of the incident.
Investigators believe the shootings occurred sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on June 19.
The bodies of the deceased will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory in Macon, where autopsies will be conducted to determine the official causes and manners of death.
Police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shootings.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
