Brunswick Man Arrested After Posting Social Media Threat Targeting Public Event
BRUNSWICK, Ga. — A Brunswick man has been arrested after investigators determined he was responsible for an alleged online threat directed at an upcoming public event, according to the Brunswick Police Department.
Police said the investigation began on June 9, 2026, after officers received information regarding a threatening social media post aimed at a future public gathering.
Upon receiving the report, investigators with the Brunswick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division immediately launched an investigation to evaluate the credibility of the threat and protect public safety.
As a result of the investigation, authorities arrested 25-year-old Christopher Waller of Brunswick on June 12.
Waller has been charged with Terroristic Threats.
Police have not released details regarding the specific event that was targeted or the contents of the alleged threat.
“The Brunswick Police Department takes threats to public safety seriously and remains committed to thoroughly investigating incidents that may endanger members of the community,” the agency said in a statement.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
