Atlanta Police Seek Person of Interest in Armed Robbery and Shooting During Camera Sale Meeting

ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in an armed robbery and shooting that occurred in downtown Atlanta last month.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers assigned to Zone 5 responded on May 27, 2026, to a report of an armed robbery near 208 Hunnicutt Street NW.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had arranged to meet a male suspect regarding the sale of a camera.

During the meeting, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm, struck the victim with the weapon and then fired a shot as the victim attempted to flee.

Police said the victim did not suffer any serious injuries during the incident.

The suspect allegedly stole the victim’s satchel, cellphone, cash and other personal belongings before fleeing the area.

Investigators have released a photograph of a person of interest and are asking anyone who recognizes the individual to come forward.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect. Tipsters do not have to provide their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
