Driver Shot Multiple Times During Cobb County Road Rage Encounter

COBB COUNTY, Georgia – A 47-year-old man has been arrested following a road rage shooting that left another driver wounded Wednesday morning in Cobb County, authorities said.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:13 a.m. on June 3 to the area of Woodstock Road and Mabry Road after receiving reports of a shooting.

Preliminary investigators determined the incident began as an apparent road rage encounter between two drivers.

Police said the driver of one vehicle fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle during the confrontation. Both vehicles continued through the intersection toward the Cobb County and City of Roswell boundary.

The victim, identified as 57-year-old Kenneth Taylor, eventually stopped within the City of Roswell Police Department’s jurisdiction, where officers found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Taylor was transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment. Authorities said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

While officers interviewed witnesses, the Cobb County Police Real Time Crime Center reviewed available camera footage and identified the suspect vehicle as a gold SUV traveling toward Cherokee County.

Detectives subsequently identified the suspect as 47-year-old Bashir Beal of Acworth.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office located Beal and took him into custody before turning him over to Cobb County investigators.

Beal has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
