Dirt Bike Rider Dies After Crash in Athens
ATHENS, Ga. — A man critically injured in a dirt bike crash over the weekend in Athens-Clarke County has died, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 1:55 p.m. on May 16, 2026, to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Whit Davis Road and Pettit Lane.
When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Worley Lorenzo Robinson of Elberton lying in the roadway with critical injuries.
Investigators said Robinson was operating a 2012 Suzuki RM-Z450L northbound on Whit Davis Road when the crash occurred.
EMS transported Robinson to a local hospital in critical condition.
Authorities said police were notified May 18 that Robinson had died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
