Wanted Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested After Deputies Find Fentanyl, Stolen Gun in Lee County
LEE COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people after an early morning investigation at a mobile home park led to the discovery of narcotics, a stolen firearm, and drug distribution materials.
Authorities said the May 13, 2026, incident stemmed from a previously reported armed robbery investigation involving 51-year-old Sean Tramell Smith.
Investigators said Smith was accused of entering a residence at Kinchafoonee Mobile Home Park on May 11, threatening a woman with a firearm, and stealing two cell phones. Warrants had been issued charging him with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
Deputies Joshua Greene and Cortin Rogers responded around 3:18 a.m. May 13 to 205 Kinchafoonee Creek Road after a complaint about an unwanted guest.
While en route, dispatchers advised deputies the suspect from the armed robbery case had returned to the area driving a silver Mercedes-Benz.
Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, identifying the driver as Smith, who was wanted on the outstanding warrants.
Authorities said Smith was taken into custody without incident.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, deputies located a Smith & Wesson SD40 handgun inside the center console. A records check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen from Washington, D.C.
Investigators then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and recovered suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, mushrooms, a digital scale, a pill press, packaging materials, smoking devices, and other drug-related items.
According to investigators, field tests later confirmed the substances included approximately 44 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of methamphetamine, and 8 grams of cocaine.
Deputies also recovered the two cell phones reported stolen during the earlier armed robbery investigation and returned them to the victim, authorities said.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Nadia Cintron Rodriguez, was also detained. Investigators said Rodriguez admitted she knew the firearm was inside the vehicle and confirmed she was a convicted felon.
Smith was charged with multiple offenses including Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Unlawfully Possessing a Pill Press.
Rodriguez was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. Her bond was set at $20,000.
Both were booked into the Lee County Jail.
Investigators said the case remains active and ongoing.
