Man Found Dead Inside Motel 6 Room in Macon, Investigation Underway

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found unresponsive inside a motel room Saturday morning.

Deputies responded shortly after 11 a.m. to the Motel 6 in the 100 block of Riverside Parkway after receiving a report of an unresponsive person.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a 40-year-old man lying unresponsive on a bed inside one of the rooms, according to investigators.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as John Robert McLaurin. Officials said next of kin have been notified.

Investigators said McLaurin’s body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy.
