Former Calhoun Police Officer Among 3 Arrested in Whitfield County Shooting Investigation
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — Three people, including a former police officer, have been arrested in connection with a shooting investigation in Whitfield County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities said 44-year-old Jorge Alejandro Gonzalez, 28-year-old Jose Neo Rodriguez, and 27-year-old Adrianna Gonzalez, all of Chatsworth, were charged following the investigation. Officials identified Rodriguez as a former officer with the Calhoun Police Department.
Investigators said the case began May 6, 2026, at approximately 7:15 p.m., when the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the GBI regarding a shooting near County Farm Road.
According to investigators, Jorge Gonzalez allegedly fired shots at a man and woman during the incident.
Authorities said Rodriguez and Adrianna Gonzalez allegedly helped Jorge Gonzalez locate and follow the victims before the shooting and later made false statements to investigators.
Jorge Gonzalez was charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
Rodriguez and Adrianna Gonzalez were each charged with Making False Statements to Law Enforcement, Stalking, and Aggravated Assault.
Investigators said Jorge Gonzalez was arrested May 6 and booked into the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Detention Center.
Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez were arrested May 13 and also booked into the detention center.
Officials said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
