Man Found Dead Near Duluth Police Headquarters
DULUTH, Ga. — Authorities are investigating the death of a man found Sunday night in a parking lot near police headquarters.
According to the Duluth Police Department, officers responded around 9:56 p.m. April 26, 2026, to a report of a person in crisis near Davenport Road at police headquarters, located at 3276 Buford Highway.
Officers located an adult male deceased in the parking lot near his vehicle with an apparent fatal head injury. Personnel with the Gwinnett County Fire Department confirmed the man was dead at the scene.
Investigators said friends of the individual had contacted 911 after becoming concerned when they were unable to reach him. Officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department were already in the area assisting when the man was found.
The scene was secured by Duluth officers, and detectives, crime scene investigators and the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to process the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate there is no sign of foul play, and the incident appears to be an isolated act of self-harm. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing pending final review by the medical examiner.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
