ESUP, Ga. — A former Wayne County High School teacher has been arrested and charged following an investigation into allegations she had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Courtney Williams Shaver, 24, of Jesup, was arrested Friday, April 17, 2026, and charged with two counts of improper sexual contact by employee, agent, or foster parent.

The investigation began January 9, 2026, when the Jesup Police Department requested GBI assistance after receiving a report involving Shaver, who was then employed as a science teacher at Wayne County High School.
