Savannah Police Arrest Suspect in March Fatal Shooting
SAVANNAH, Ga. — A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in early March, Savannah police said.
Maalik Frazier was taken into custody April 9, 2026, by the Savannah Police Department, its Strategic Investigations Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The arrest stems from a March 1st shooting in the 10 block of Echols Avenue. Officers responded at approximately 12:45 a.m. and found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by EMS to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he later died.
Investigators said early evidence and witness interviews helped identify a suspect vehicle. Detectives worked through the night to identify Frazier as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
Frazier was located and apprehended in the area of Wheaton Street and Waters Avenue. He has been charged with felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
