Bicyclist Killed In Early Morning Crash On Hawkinsville Road In Macon

MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating a fatal crash near the Middle Georgia Regional Airport involving a vehicle and a bicyclist early Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 5:21 a.m. on March 18, 2026. Deputies responded to Hawkinsville Road near the intersection of Avondale Mill Road after receiving reports that a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle.

According to investigators, a 2008 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Hawkinsville Road approaching Feagin Road when it struck a 43-year-old male bicyclist who was also traveling south in the outside lane.

When deputies arrived, they found the bicyclist unresponsive. Paramedics attempted to provide medical aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

The victim was identified as Michael Anthony Hill.

The crash remains under investigation.
