24-Year-Old Woman Found Shot to Death in Marietta Neighborhood

Cobb County, GA — The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a homicide after a 24-year-old woman was found shot to death Friday morning in a Marietta neighborhood.

Officers with Precinct Three responded around 7:50 a.m. on March 6, 2026, to a report of a person shot in the 1800 block of Waldrep Circle. When officers arrived, they discovered a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as Favia Gricelda Naely Vicente Velasquez, 24, of Marietta. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation. Velasquez was transported to the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
