Suspect Arrested After Daytime Shooting Investigation in Cordele
CORDELE, Ga. — A suspect is in custody following a shooting investigation Friday morning near Joe Wright Drive and 24th Avenue, according to the Cordele Police Department.
Officers responded to the area at approximately 11:00 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Through a coordinated effort between the Cordele Police Department and the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, a 29-year-old male suspect was located at a nearby residence and taken into custody without incident.
Authorities said the suspect was cooperative during the arrest and has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. Investigators also recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the incident.
Police confirmed that no victims were injured during the shooting.
Detectives remain actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the case but said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
