Albany Police Urge Residents to Check on Loved Ones After Two Weekend Deaths
ALBANY, Georgia – The Albany Police Department is reminding residents how important it is to stay connected with family, friends, and neighbors, noting that a simple phone call or text can make a real difference in someone’s well-being.
The reminder comes after officers responded to two separate incidents over the weekend involving individuals found deceased.
On January 16, 2026, officers were called to 521 S. Slappey Boulevard, also known as EZ Corner, where a 58-year-old woman, Angela Lofton, was found deceased.
Two days later, on January 18, 2026, officers responded to the 1800 block of N. Maple Street, where a 52-year-old man, Reginald Clyde, was found deceased.
At this time, investigators do not believe either death involved foul play. Autopsies will be conducted in both cases to determine the official causes of death.
Albany Police are encouraging the community to remain vigilant, check in on loved ones regularly, and look out for one another, emphasizing that staying connected can help prevent tragedies and ensure people get help when they need it.
