Monroe Police Seek Information After Fireworks Disrupt Christmas Parade

MONROE, GA – During last night’s Hometown Christmas Parade in downtown Monroe, a series of fireworks were set off near Court Street, causing alarm among spectators. The Monroe Police Department wants to reassure the community that there was no shooting incident, despite circulating rumors on social media.

Thanks to enhanced planning and a strong officer presence, no parade attendees or participants were in danger.

Authorities are now seeking information to identify the individual or group responsible for discharging the fireworks, which disrupted an otherwise safe and joyful event. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of those involved.
