Jury Convicts Man of Aggravated Child Molestation in Haralson County Trial

HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. – District Attorney Jaeson Smith announced on November 25 that a Haralson County jury returned a guilty verdict against Jimmy Labbee, following a seven-day trial in Haralson County Superior Court.

The jury deliberated for two days before delivering the verdict on Tuesday, November 25, convicting Labbee of multiple serious charges:

  • Aggravated Child Molestation
  • Two counts of Child Molestation
  • Public Indecency

District Attorney Smith praised the courage of the victims and the collaborative efforts of the prosecution team: “The victims’ courage in coming forward was paramount in bringing Labbee to justice… Thanks to all of our community partners, this year we have had tremendous success sending child predators away.”

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Alison Karch and Assistant District Attorney Jason Jones. Investigative support was provided by Heather Mecillas of the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and Blake Terry of the District Attorney’s Office.

Sentencing for Labbee will be scheduled for a later date before Superior Court Judge Mark Murphy.
