Downtown Macon Driver Arrested for DUI After Reckless Parking Garage Escape

On Saturday night, November 15th, deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Cardasia Velnedra Brandy after a dangerous encounter in downtown Macon.

Deputy John Kile initiated a traffic stop on a Kia Forte he observed driving at a high rate of speed through a crowded parking garage. Rather than stopping, the driver continued through several levels of the garage before exiting and finally coming to a stop on Mulberry Street.

Brandy, who admitted to consuming several shots of alcohol prior to driving, resisted arrest. H.E.A.T. Unit Deputy Dalton Palmer confirmed that she was under the influence.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. Brandy faces charges including Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence Under 21, Reckless Driving, and Willful Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer. Bond has been set at $5,650.
