Columbus Police Arrest Two in Connection to 2024 Shooting Death
COLUMBUS, GA – Columbus Police have made two arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of Jabreia Burston, 24, at the Grove Park Apartments.
Burston was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on August 27, 2024, around 8:52 p.m. in the parking lot of the 1400 block of Grove Park Drive. She was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional for treatment but was pronounced deceased the following day, August 28, 2024.
On October 24, 2025, 22-year-old Marques Lattimore was arrested and charged with Murder, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Lattimore, who was out on bond at the time for separate Home Invasion and Armed Robbery charges, pled not guilty during a Recorder’s Court appearance on October 28, 2025, and was denied bond. His case has been bound over to Superior Court for further proceedings.
On November 4, 2025, Columbus Police Fugitive Unit arrested 31-year-old Keshon Corbin, who has also been charged with murder in connection with Burston’s death.
