Man Shot by Police After Killing Wife During Domestic Dispute in Douglasville

On October 4, 2025, at approximately 9:27 p.m., Douglasville Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic incident at a residence on Littlebrook Way in Douglasville, Georgia. Upon arrival, officers observed a woman lying in the yard with injuries and a man standing nearby. The man was later identified as 51-year-old Volanta Lejuan Walker, and the woman was identified as his 56-year-old wife, Sabrina Walker.
According to preliminary information, the couple had an argument inside their home before Volanta Walker chased Sabrina Walker outside and shot her. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers confronted Volanta Walker, who was armed and refused commands to drop his weapon. When he pointed the handgun at the officers, one officer fired, striking Walker. He was provided medical aid and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No officers were injured in the incident.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is handling the death investigation and will conduct an autopsy on Sabrina Walker. The officer-involved shooting case will be reviewed by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office once the investigation is complete. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
