Athens-Clarke County Police Announce Arrest, Investigate Downtown Shootings

ATHENS, GA – The Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) has made an arrest in connection with a weekend shooting downtown and is continuing to investigate a separate incident that left three teens injured.
Arrest in September 28 Shooting
On September 30, 2025, ACCPD’s Gang Unit located and arrested 24-year-old Tatianna Wilbon of Athens in connection with the early morning shooting on September 28. Wilbon has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault and three counts of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Teens Injured in Downtown Altercation
In a separate incident, officers responded to a fight around 3:52 a.m. on September 28 in the 100 block of East Clayton Street. Officers dispersed the group, but members later regrouped near Lumpkin Street. Shortly afterward, officers heard multiple gunshots.
Three teens were located with gunshot wounds and were transported by EMS to a local hospital. Police report that the injuries were non-life-threatening.
