Augusta Gang Unit Busts Drug Trafficking Operation, Arrests Two

AUGUSTA, Ga.—A month-long investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit culminated in a raid on Thursday night that led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs and firearms.
The investigation, which began in August, targeted a drug trafficking organization allegedly operated by Ronnie Bradford. On September 18, a search warrant was executed at a home at 2611 Brookshire Road with assistance from multiple law enforcement divisions.
Investigators found approximately 306.72 grams of marijuana, 27 Oxycodone pills, and nine firearms.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:
- Leory Jenkins Jr.
- Ronnie Malek Joseph Bradford
Both men face identical charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent, Possession of Oxycodone with Intent, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Sheriff Eugene Brantley stated that the bust is part of the Sheriff’s Office’s two-fold approach to combatting gang violence: intervention through mentorship and education, and strict enforcement against those involved in gang life. He added that the majority of violent crimes are linked to gangs and that his office is “committed to breaking this cycle.”
