Former Greene County Deputy Arrested for Tasing Handcuffed Man
Robert Allen Kline

LEXINGTON, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged 51-year-old Robert Allen Kline, a former deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, with Aggravated Assault and Violation of Oath of Office.

The incident came to light after the Greene County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance on July 7, 2025, around 9:00 a.m. The request followed reports that a deputy had used a Taser on a person who was already handcuffed.

Preliminary investigation revealed that on July 6, 2025, at approximately midnight, Greene County deputies responded to a wreck and arrested an individual for driving under the influence. During the arrest process, Kline, while still employed as a deputy, allegedly deployed a Taser on the restrained individual.

Kline was arrested on July 9, 2025, and booked into the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
