One Dead, Two Injured in Glennville Shooting; GBI Investigating

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has launched a homicide investigation after a shooting in Glennville left one man dead and two others injured early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025. The GBI was requested by the Glennville Police Department to investigate the incident.

At approximately 12:00 a.m., Glennville Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting on MLK Drive, between Boyd Street and Green Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Alvin Lashawn Williams, 32, with a gunshot wound. Williams was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Two additional individuals were also found with gunshot wounds and were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment.

Williams’ body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy.
