High-Speed Crash Involving Three Vehicles Injures Two in Southwest Atlanta

Two people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in southwest Atlanta early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 12:13 a.m. on June 4, 2025, Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to a serious accident involving three vehicles near 4454 Campbellton Road. Due to the severity of the crash, the department’s Accident Investigations Unit was called to the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, a black Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound at high speed when it swerved to avoid hitting a black BMW near County Line Road SW. The Chevrolet left the roadway, struck a telephone pole, lost control, then collided with a white Nissan Armada. The vehicle continued across the center line and crashed head-on into a black Tesla traveling westbound.

The front-seat passenger in the Chevrolet sustained serious injuries and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was also taken to Grady in stable condition. The drivers of the Nissan and Tesla were not injured.

Investigators believe the Chevrolet’s driver may have been under the influence. Charges are expected as the investigation continues.
