GBI Investigating Potential Human Trafficking Case in Jasper; Missing Pennsylvania Teen Rescued

At the request of the Jasper Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an active human trafficking investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that police rescued a 14-year-old who had been reported as a runaway from Pennsylvania in January 2025. The minor received medical treatment and additional resources and will be returned to Pennsylvania.

The GBI stated that this investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GBI’s HEAT Unit at 404-270-8433.
