Atrium Health Navicent Mobile Mammography Coach Expands Access Across Central and South Georgia

Atrium Health Navicent is bringing potentially life-saving breast cancer screenings directly to women across central and south Georgia this spring with its new mobile mammography coach.

The state-of-the-art, 35-foot mobile unit is equipped with advanced 3D digital mammography technology and staffed by specially trained female technologists. Since its launch in January, the coach has already provided nearly 300 screenings at various schools, businesses, and community centers.

“Atrium Health Navicent is proud to be increasing access to mammograms, taking this service to the places where women live, work and live their lives to make it easier for them to participate in a screening,” said Atrium Health Navicent Mobile Mammography Program Manager Latasha Hill. “Breast cancer screening can detect cancer early, when it’s easier to treat.”

While the provided text states that breast cancer accounts for about 30% of all new female cancers each year and is the second most common cancer among American women, it’s important to note that current data indicates lung cancer is the second most common cancer in women in the US.

The mobile mammography coach offers convenient screenings in a comfortable and private environment, with appointments typically lasting about 15 minutes. Results are usually returned within two business days, and follow-up appointments are promptly scheduled if needed.

Here’s where the mobile mammography coach will be in April and May:
