Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrests, Crack Cocaine Lab Discovery in South Georgia

A traffic stop for a stop sign violation on February 26, 2025, led to the arrest of two individuals and the discovery of a crack cocaine manufacturing operation in Nashville.

Nashville Police Department detectives, with assistance from Georgia State Patrol troopers, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Elton Johnson Jr. Johnson had an active arrest warrant and was taken into custody.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed:

  • 17.6 grams of methamphetamine
  • 50.3 grams of cocaine
  • 10.9 grams of marijuana

Detectives then obtained a search warrant for Johnson’s residence, where they discovered evidence of crack cocaine manufacturing.

Elton Johnson Jr. and passenger Alleah Cornelius were arrested and charged with:

  • Manufacturing Crack Cocaine
  • Trafficking in Cocaine
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
  • Possession and use of drug related objects

Johnson was additionally charged with:

  • Possession of marijuana less than one ounce
  • Failure to stop at a stop sign
  • Tampering with evidence
