Savannah Man Arrested for Manufacturing and Possessing Ghost Guns

James T. Campbell, 35, has been arrested by the Savannah Police Department following an investigation into the manufacturing and trade of illegal ghost guns.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, at 5 a.m., officers from the Savannah Police Department’s Strategic Investigations Unit and SWAT, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), executed a search warrant at Campbell’s residence in the 300 block of Edgewater Rd.

During the search, officers discovered 18 firearms, multiple firearm accessories, firearm parts, firearm manufacturing tools, and tactical gear. Narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also recovered.

Campbell, a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts of possession of dangerous weapons.

“I’m extremely proud of the hard work of our investigators and federal partners,” said Savannah Chief of Police Lenny B. Gunther. “Their efforts have removed a dangerous individual and untraceable firearms from our community.”
