Army National Guard Soldier Charged with Murder After Shooting at Fort Eisenhower

Natravien Landry, 25, of Abbeville, Louisiana, has been charged with murder following a shooting incident at a Fort Eisenhower residence on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Landry, an Army National Guard soldier assigned to the 1148th Transportation Company, is accused of assaulting and shooting a man at the home of a woman with whom he shares a child.

The shooting occurred early Saturday morning in post housing at Fort Eisenhower. Landry allegedly shot the man and then left the scene. He was apprehended approximately three hours later south of Atlanta during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 by the Meriwether County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office. A 9 mm pistol was recovered during the stop.

The victim was identified as U.S. Army Sgt. Andre S. Stewart Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Landry was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. He made an initial court appearance on Monday and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Wednesday.

The case is under investigation by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division. Landry is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Henry W. Syms Jr., Patricia G. Rhodes, Kelsey L. Scanlon, and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Capt. Jacqueline M. Stryker.
