Cobb County Firefighter Paramedic Passes Away, Leaving a Legacy of Service

The Cobb County Fire Department in Marietta, GA, announced with deep sorrow the passing of Elisabeth “Lisa” Barringer-Cook, a devoted member of their Fire & Emergency Services team. Barringer-Cook, who had been with Cobb County since 2017, began her firefighting career with the Fulton County Fire Department, where she served for five years before joining Cobb County as a Firefighter Paramedic.

Barringer-Cook spent the majority of her career stationed at the 2nd Battalion, Station 5. In 2022, she transitioned to a Community Paramedicine role with the Cobb CARES unit, demonstrating her ongoing dedication to public service. Her career continued to evolve when she was selected for a position as a Fire Inspector in the Cobb County Fire Marshal’s Office in 2023, where she served until her passing.

The Cobb County Fire Department expressed their profound grief over Barringer-Cook’s loss, stating, “Lisa dedicated her life to serving our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Her legacy of selflessness and bravery will forever be remembered, and her loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her.”
