Investigation Underway After Body Found Near St. Simons Marina in Glynn County

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. Authorities are investigating the death of an individual whose body was discovered near the St. Simons Marina on July 30.

The Glynn County Police Department said detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death after responding to the marina area.

According to police, investigators have thoroughly processed the scene, interviewed witnesses and are continuing to pursue all available leads.

Officials said there is currently no indication that the incident poses an ongoing threat to the public.

“Based on the information and evidence available at this time, detectives have no indication that this incident poses an ongoing threat to the public,” the department said in a statement. Investigators added that the circumstances suggest the death was an isolated incident.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased or disclosed the cause or manner of death.

Authorities said no additional details will be released while the investigation remains active.

The Glynn County Police Department expressed its condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.
