PRESTON, Ga. – Two 18-year-old men have been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting deaths of two teenagers whose bodies were discovered earlier this month in a wooded area of Webster County.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Terrence Terrell Bell Jr. and 18-year-old Kemarion Tyrique Latimer were arrested on July 14 in connection with the killings.

Both men have been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

They are being held in the Sumter County Jail without bond.

The investigation began after a family member reported one of the victims missing on June 30.

On July 1, deputies with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office searched a wooded area near Twin Towers Road and Johnson Road outside Preston, where they found 19-year-old Zekevian James of Richland and 17-year-old Jo’Quavious Jones of Lumpkin dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Authorities have not released a motive for the killings.

Family members said James was preparing to begin a new chapter in his life and was expecting a child.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office confirmed both Belle and Latimer remain in custody without bond.

Investigators said the case remains active, and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

The arrests were made jointly by the GBI Region 3 Office and the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
