Man Arrested Following Aggravated Assault at Macon Apartment Complex
MACON, Ga. — A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated assault that left a 60-year-old man injured Monday afternoon at a downtown Macon apartment complex, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded just after 2 p.m. to the Dempsey Apartments, located at 523 Cherry Street, after the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a report of a person who had been cut.
When deputies arrived, they found a 60-year-old man suffering from a cut wound.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the scene and continue the investigation.
Authorities said investigators recovered evidence related to the assault and identified the suspect as 34-year-old Daniel John Travis.
Travis was taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division before being booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
He has been charged with aggravated assault and public indecency.
According to medical staff, the victim was treated for his injuries and is listed in stable condition.
