Two Teens Shot, One Dead on Warren Road Incident in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. — One teenager was killed and another was wounded in a shooting early Saturday morning in Augusta, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at approximately 12:50 a.m. on June 20, 2026, to the 200 block of Warren Road after receiving reports of shots fired involving two victims.

When deputies arrived, they found 18-year-old Eric Markquis Bartley Miller of Augusta suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Despite emergency response efforts, Miller died at the scene. Deputy Coroner John Rutland pronounced him deceased at 1:38 a.m.

A second victim, identified as 18-year-old Joseph Lamar Thomas of Augusta, was also found suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Thomas was transported to Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have not released an update on his condition.

Investigators have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect in the case.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting remains under active investigation, and no additional details were immediately available.
