Community Urged to Help Solve Deadly Shooting After Woodbine ‘Pack da Park’ Event
WOODBINE, Georgia – The Camden County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as investigators continue searching for those responsible for a deadly shooting that happened after a community event in Woodbine.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred April 26 following the “Pack da Park” community event, which authorities described as a family-oriented gathering focused on children, fellowship, and community engagement.
Officials said an argument escalated into gunfire as the event ended, causing panic among attendees.
The victim was identified as Troy D. Williams-Jordan, who was also known as “Mush.”
Williams-Jordan was transported for medical treatment but later died from his injuries at UF Health Shands Hospital.
Authorities said multiple law enforcement agencies continue assisting with interviews, evidence collection, and investigative follow-up.
Kevin Chaney said investigators remain committed to identifying those responsible.
“This was a senseless act of violence that occurred in the presence of families and children,” Chaney said. “Our investigators are working diligently, but we need the community’s help. If you saw something, heard something, captured video, or know any detail that may help this investigation, we ask that you come forward.”
Timothy Bessent Sr. also urged community members to assist investigators and support the victim’s family.
“Our hearts continue to grieve over the tragic death of Troy Williams Jr.,” Bessent said. “Troy’s children deserve answers, and his family deserves peace. We urge anyone who may know something about this case to please come forward and speak with law enforcement. No piece of information is too small. Your voice could help bring healing to a hurting family and community.”
Detectives are asking anyone who attended the event to review cell phone videos, photos, social media content, or any other information that may help investigators determine what happened before, during, and after the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Camden County Sheriff’s Office at 912-729-1442.
