Operation Safe Streets Nets Guns, Drugs and Arrests Across Macon Area

MACON, Ga. — A multi-agency enforcement effort targeting crime and traffic violations in the Macon area led to the seizure of firearms and narcotics, along with multiple arrests and citations, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation, called Operation Safe Streets, was conducted Friday by the sheriff’s office Traffic Division with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol, Special Investigations Unit and Gang Unit, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Special Response Team and investigators from property and violent crimes units.

Authorities said approximately 10 firearms were seized during the operation, along with about 3 pounds of marijuana, 3 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of methamphetamine and 12 grams of fentanyl.

Officials reported that 12 arrests were made during a series of traffic stops, along with 81 traffic citations and 51 warnings. Deputies also made six DUI arrests.

  • Jermaine Adaryll Bronner Jr. — Purchase, Possession, Manufacture, Distribution, or Sale of Marijuana; Possession of Sawed-off Shotgun, Machine Gun, Dangerous Weapon or Silencer; three counts of Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of a Felony
  • Yashieka Detrica Burton — Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Driving Under the Influence with Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.08 or more; Traffic/Motor Vehicle Offense
  • Michael Bernard Dean — Purchase, Possession, Manufacture, Distribution, or Sale of Marijuana; Possession of Sawed-off Shotgun, Machine Gun, Dangerous Weapon or Silencer; three counts of Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of a Felony
  • Brandon Jeremiah Holloway — Purchase, Possession, Manufacture, Distribution, or Sale of Marijuana; Possession of Sawed-off Shotgun, Machine Gun, Dangerous Weapon or Silencer; three counts of Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of a Felony

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety and reduce criminal activity in the community, and credited state and federal partners for their assistance.
