Threat Investigation at Milner Private School Deemed Isolated, GBI Takes Lead
MILNER, Ga. — Authorities are investigating reported threats made toward a local private school, with state agents now leading the case.
The Milner Police Department said it was recently notified of an individual who made unspecified threats directed at St. George’s Episcopal School, including its staff and students.
Police immediately launched a criminal investigation and conducted a threat assessment, determining the situation appears to be isolated.
Due to the multi-jurisdictional nature of the case, the department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which has since taken the lead. Milner police said they remain actively involved and are supporting the investigation.
Authorities said enhanced security measures have been implemented at the school, and officers will maintain an increased presence on campus for the remainder of the school year.
Officials said no additional details are being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved.
“Our commitment to the safety and well-being of the Milner community remains our top priority,” said Police Chief Lamar Bunn. “We are working tirelessly to resolve this matter, and we appreciate the community’s continued support and cooperation as we proceed.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI Region 6 Office at 478-445-4173 or the Milner Police Department at 770-358-1604.
The investigation remains ongoing.
