Rome Police Seek Public’s Help After Fatal Shooting Near Family Dollar
ROME, Ga. — Police are asking for the public’s help after a fatal shooting early Sunday near a Family Dollar on North Broad Street.
Responding officers and emergency personnel found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound after the shooting on April 19, 2026, according to the Rome Police Department.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of family members.
Investigators said they believe numerous people were in the area at the time of the shooting and are urging witnesses to come forward.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area, has photos or video, or has information about what happened to contact authorities immediately.
The Rome Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate.
