Multi-Agency Drug Bust Nets 20 Arrests, Seizes Meth, Fentanyl and Firearms in Central Georgia

SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. — A large-scale drug investigation spanning multiple counties has resulted in the arrest of approximately 20 individuals and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics, according to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation was conducted by the sheriff’s office Special Operations Division in coordination with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the operation targeted a drug trafficking organization allegedly led by 35-year-old Brandon “Twin” Williams and 35-year-old Gregory “Chuck” Dodson. Authorities believe the group distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and other illegal drugs throughout Spalding County, Fayette County, and other parts of middle Georgia.

Agents said the organization used locations in DeKalb and Clayton counties to supply narcotics to traffickers who then transported the drugs back into surrounding communities. Investigators also believe the operation may be linked to fentanyl overdose deaths in Spalding County.

During the execution of more than 30 search warrants, authorities seized over 20 pounds of methamphetamine, along with quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, and multiple firearms.

Williams and Dodson are each facing multiple charges, including violations under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, along with drug trafficking and conspiracy-related offenses.

Several others were arrested on charges ranging from trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute to firearm and drug-related offenses.

Officials credited the success of the investigation to coordination among multiple agencies, including the Georgia State Patrol, Butts County Sheriff’s Office, and Henry County Police Department.
