GBI Investigating Dublin Shooting That Left Man Hospitalized With Gunshot Wound

DUBLIN, GA – Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents are assisting the Dublin Police Department in the investigation of a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, December 28, 2025.

According to authorities, officers were called at about 2:00 a.m. to a home in the 800 block of Lily Street after receiving reports of a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Alex Horn of Dublin suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators interviewed witnesses at the scene, who said an altercation took place between Horn and 37-year-old Demetrice Voneric O’Neal, also of Dublin. Based on the preliminary investigation, arrest warrants have been obtained for O’Neal on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

Horn was transported to a hospital, where he remains hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries.
