26-Year-Old Man Killed in Shooting at Macon Economy Hotel

MACON, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday evening at a Macon hotel.

Deputies were dispatched to the Economy Hotel, located at 4295 Pio Nono Avenue, after the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a call at approximately 7:22 p.m. reporting a person who had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found a 26-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Travon Maurice Harden of Macon. Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley confirmed that Harden’s next of kin has been notified. No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains in its preliminary stages, and no additional details have been released at this time.
