Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on Broadway in Macon

A 49-year-old woman has died following a pedestrian crash Thursday evening in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called just before 6:40 p.m. to the 3900 block of Broadway after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Investigators said a driver in a 2006 Dodge Dakota hit a female who was walking in the roadway and wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the incident.

The pedestrian was identified as Angela Clarice Hester of Warner Robins. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed that Hester’s next of kin has been notified.
