Three Arrested in Deadly Waycross Shooting That Claimed Life of 35-Year-Old Man

WAYCROSS, GA – The Waycross Police Department has arrested three men in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old Lawrence Eugene Woods. Officers were called to the 1200 block of Isabella Street on November 29, 2025, at about 9:36 p.m. after several gunshots were reported in the area. When officers arrived, they found Woods unresponsive. They immediately began CPR, but he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Detectives moved quickly, identifying potential suspects within hours of the shooting. The first arrest came the next day, when 38-year-old Alex Jamal Taylor of Waycross was taken into custody on November 30. On December 1, investigators arrested 27-year-old Willie Daquan Edwards, also of Waycross. The third suspect, 31-year-old Keitric Trevon McCaskey, was located and arrested on December 10.

All three men are being held at the Ware County Jail. Each faces a murder charge, and detectives say more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
