Georgia State Trooper Injured in Crash on I-95 While Preparing Traffic Stop
Bryan County, GA – The Georgia Department of Public Safety has released information about a crash involving a state trooper on Sunday morning.
Around 8 a.m. on November 16, the trooper was driving southbound on I-95 near Exit 87 in the left lane while monitoring a vehicle behind him that he planned to stop for a traffic violation. When the vehicle exited the interstate, the trooper attempted to move across lanes to initiate the stop. During that movement, he crossed in front of a tractor-trailer, leading to a collision.
The trooper was taken to a hospital with head injuries and was released later in the afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation, and officials say a full review of the incident is underway.
