Juvenile Arrested in Brunswick Vehicle Burglary Investigation

In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10, Glynn County Police officers apprehended a 16-year-old juvenile suspected of multiple vehicle break-ins in the Ogden Drive area.
At approximately 12:13 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a resident at 102 Ogden Drive in Brunswick, GA, who reported a person seen on camera entering a vehicle. Two officers arrived within minutes and located a young male nearby wearing a hoodie, partial face covering, and latex gloves.
The officers detained the juvenile and, during a search, found a .25 caliber pistol later confirmed stolen from a separate vehicle burglary, along with a screwdriver and flashlight. Video evidence provided by the reporting resident confirmed the same juvenile had also entered their vehicle the previous day.
After contacting the juvenile’s parents, officers attempted an interview. Detectives continue to investigate, working to identify additional victims and match recovered property to other reported cases.
“The quick response and teamwork of our patrol officers and investigators helped recover stolen property and likely prevented additional crimes,” the department said in a statement. “We also appreciate the vigilant homeowner whose immediate report and video evidence were key to identifying the suspect.”
This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Glynn County Police Department’s Non-Emergency line at (912) 554-3645 or Silent Witness at (912) 264-1333.
Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and promptly report any suspicious activity by calling 911 or the non-emergency number.
