Columbus Police Respond to Active Shooter Incident at Amazon Facility

Columbus Police are investigating after an active shooter situation unfolded early Monday morning, September 22, 2025, at the Amazon facility in the 5800 block of Osceola Court.

Officers were dispatched around 4:47 a.m. after reports that a man had fired several shots into the front of the building from outside. He then walked a short distance away, where responding officers confronted him.

Police say the suspect brandished a firearm, leading to a brief standoff as officers tried to get him to surrender. The incident ended when the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No other injuries were reported. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing.
