Florida Man Arrested in Georgia Elder Exploitation, Timeshare Scam Case

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested Charles Henry Williams, 63, of Trinity, Florida, following a five-month investigation into an online timeshare scam that defrauded an elderly Georgia couple of more than $1 million over the course of four years.

Williams is charged with Theft by Deception and Exploitation of an Elder Person.

The investigation began in April 2025, when the GBI was asked to look into the fraudulent scheme involving a couple from Newnan, Georgia. Evidence revealed that Williams orchestrated a long-running scam that convinced the victims to hand over large sums of money under false pretenses.

Authorities say that additional victims have since been identified.

Williams was arrested on August 29, 2025, in Trinity, Florida. He will be extradited to Coweta County, Georgia, to face charges.

The investigation was conducted in coordination with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The case remains active as investigators continue working to identify and assist additional victims.
