Man Wanted on Felony Drug and Gun Charges After Fleeing Hospital in Lavonia

LAVONIA, Ga.—A man is at large and wanted on multiple felony charges after he was discharged from the hospital before police could serve an arrest warrant.
On August 28, the Lavonia Police Department, in coordination with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant on a residence at 144 Maurice Way. Two suspects were initially detained, and a subsequent search led to the discovery of approximately 20.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, pills, a handgun, and drug paraphernalia.
One of the suspects, Adrian Pitts, complained of chest pain and shortness of breath and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. While he was there, investigators developed additional probable cause and secured a felony arrest warrant for him. However, Pitts was discharged from the hospital before he could be taken into custody.
Pitts is currently at large with active arrest warrants for:
- Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
- Possession of Drug Related Objects
- Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act
