Savannah Police Investigating Four Shootings in Three Days, Two Juveniles Killed

SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah Police Department is investigating four separate shootings that occurred between August 20 and August 22, leaving two juveniles dead and three adults wounded.

On August 20, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of W. 38th Street and Harden Street following ShotSpotter alerts. An adult male was located near the scene with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment. Investigators also found ballistic damage to property in the area.

On August 21, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue after ShotSpotter reports. A male juvenile was found on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided aid before EMS transported the victim to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

On August 22, around 8:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Wheaton Street after ShotSpotter alerts. Two adults were found suffering from non-life-threatening injuries after their vehicle was fired upon by an unknown group. Both victims were transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center, treated, and later released.

Later that same evening, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of La Roche Avenue for reports of a shooting. A male juvenile was discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite initial medical treatment, he died at the scene.
